Grilled Turkey Breast with Herb Seasoning
Even though thanksgiving is just around the corner, it doesn’t stop our craving for Turkey. The weather has been so weird lately too.
Hot then, cold. Hot then cold.
So figured, might as well bust out the grill one last time!ย Who am I kidding. It’s Southern California – grilling season never ends!
With a smaller family, a whole turkey doesn’t always make sense. So cooking just a turkey breast is such a nice alternative to having to tend to a turkey all day.
Cooking it on a grill gives it a nice smoky flavor that is really great twist on a classic!
I marinated the Grilled Turkey for about an hour with some oregano, onion and garlic powder, and a few other seasonings in olive oil. The marinade was thenย rubbed on and under the turkey skin to give the turkey skin a nice flavor and getting some flavor to the meat itself.
This grilled turkey breast goes greatย with my smashed potatoes, and some cauliflower that I also threw on a grill in a skillet with a little butter salt and pepper. It’s a great Sunday night dinner that takes about an hour to put together.
Turkey as you know can’t be cooked super fast, but when cooking up about a 2-3 pound breast, you can get it ready in about an hour!
The grilled turkey breast has a nice char on the edges and gives a really nice crispiness to the skin. And I’m a big skin fan – but only when its crispy. Chewy, soggy skin really grosses me out. Blech!
Grilled turkey breast recipe is definitely something you’ll want to put in your arsenal.ย Regardless if this is something you’re putting together for the holidays, or just want to switch it upย on the grill!
Let get to the..

Yesss!!!
Looks wonderful Derek! We haven’t tried grilling turkey breast like this before, sounds like a really good idea! We usually buy turkey thighs, chopped for the BBQ. You just gave us another delicious alternative:) Thank you!

This grilled turkey looks fabulous. I can’t wait to try the rub on my next turkey breast!
We love cooking turkey on the BBQ. It always turns out so juicy and delicious. I could eat this all year long.
This turkey breast looks so juicy and tender – I love to buy turkey breasts — but have you noticed that the price is going up? As in half a turkey breast is $15? Hello? Are they nuts?
Yeah I saw a full breast going for 40 bucks last week, its insane!
Great looking turkey breast! I typically only do a breast as we are a small crowd, but I’ve never tried grilling it….usually because it’s too cold and snowy! Though this year the weather has been lovely up to now…but this is Iowa…today 74 and Saturday’s forecast…39. Having said that – I’ll definitely give this recipe a try come next spring!
wow that’s a huge temperature drop! We’ll be lucky if it gets under 70 next week! Keep warm!
What an easy alternative to roasting a whole turkey for Thanksgiving! Thanks for the great idea!
