Strawberry Blueberry Honey Cornbread

Nothing hits the spot like a warm skillet of honey cornbread. With labor day just around the corner, I’m making my honey cornbread with fresh in-season fruit. Strawberries and blueberries were made to be in cornbread!

This is a super easy to prepare cornbread. I’m using Krusteaz Honey Cornbread mix to save time, and also cut out the guesswork on measuring.

I’m in no way a world-class baker, so I’m always using Krusteaz, since I know it’s going to be delicious and easy to make!

I mixed in fresh blueberries and strawberries into the Krusteaz Honey Cornbread Mix, then to get festive to celebrate Labor Day I added more blueberries and sliced strawberries to go on to of the cornbread.

I’m not going to lie, I was pretty proud of myself on how it came out. I don’t always get creative with my baking, but this came out pretty good if i don’t say so myself!

The best part about summer food is the fruit. There’s always great sales, and they’re in season, and are packed with flavor. The strawberries were out of this world, and added amazing flavor to the Krusteaz Honey Cornbread Mix along with the flavor of the blueberries.

Strawberry Blueberry Honey Cornbread is surprisingly versatile. The first night we ate it along with chili. Then had leftovers for breakfast with some honey and whipped butter. The sweetness goes great along with savory dishes, and they’re great on their own.

Leftovers are probably something you’ll have for a small family, but don’t expect them if you’re bringing these to a party. In fact, you’ll probably want to make two batches. One for the party, and one to leave at home to devour when you get back!
