Instructions
Mix yogurt, garam masala, and kosher salt. Coat chicken thighs with the marinade. Marinate for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
Heat avocado oil. Sauté onion until translucent, then add ginger and garlic. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, cumin, garam masala, and turmeric.
Add marinated chicken. Sear until lightly browned. Pour in crushed tomatoes and water. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Uncover, pour in heavy cream, and stir gently. Add unsalted butter and stir until sauce is smooth.
Ladle creamy Butter Chicken onto plates. Garnish with fresh cilantro. Pair with rice, naan, or your preferred side.
